Mark Featherstone est chercheur enseignant et maître de conférence en sociologie à l’Université de Keele au Royaume-Uni. Ses domaines de recherche sont la théorie sociale, la théorie critique et la psychanalyse, à travers l’étude des systèmes sociaux idéalisés (les utopies, les dystopies). Il publie régulièrement ses articles dans les revues comme Journal of Cultural Research, Cultural Politics,Journal of Classical Sociology, CTheory et Fast capitalism. Au-delà de ses propres recherches, Mark Featherstone est membre associé de l’Institut Bauman à l’Université de Leeds au Royaume-Uni. Il a déjà publié Knowledge and the Production of Non-Knowledge : An Exploration of Alien Mythology in Post-War America (Hampton Press, 2002) et Tocqueville’s Virus: Utopia and Dystopia in Western Social and Political Thought (Routledge, 2007). Les Éditions D-Fiction publient simultanément en anglais et en français, le dernier ouvrage de Mark Featherstone, Utopie du crime (traduit par Jakuta Alikavazovic).

Mark Featherstone is senior lecturer in Sociology at Keele University, UK. His research fields are social theory, critical theory, and psychoanalysis. He is a sociologist of utopias, dystopias, idealised social systems and the sociological imagination. He regularly publishes articles in journals such as Journal of Cultural Research, Cultural Politics, Journal of Classical Sociology, Ctheory, and Fast Capitalism. Beyond his own research, Mark Featherstone is reviews editor of the Sociological Review and Cultural Politics and an associate member of the Bauman Institute at Leeds University, UK.
